    A Portrait Of Healing

Kindred’s Kaleidoscope contains writing, photography and artwork created by our patients and residents. Whether they are recovering in our transitional care hospitals or our nursing and rehabilitation centers, they are encouraged by our activity directors to express themselves artistically as part of the individual
    recovery process.

Kindred understands the value of creating art. It is a process that engages the mind, the body and the heart, and its significance is readily apparent to every caregiver and family member. We are proud to share this work with you. We believe that, at its best, it represents the spirit of hope, healing and recovery.

  • About Kaleidoscope

Kindred’s Art and Poetry Contest is now in its 20th year, and the winning entries are showcased in this gallery. The contest is designed to bring out the creativity in our patients and residents, who are invited to submit their best pieces for national judging.

Entries from residents and patients in the Hospital and Nursing Center Divisions may be awarded first, second and third places, in addition to a number of honorable mentions. We give special thanks to our activities directors and recreational therapists and their efforts and ingenuity in encouraging participation. We believe this diverse collection reflects the quality care we provide.

    The Winners

Kaleidoscope includes winners from our 2013 Art and Poetry Contest. Judges have chosen the winners based on how well they represent a certain creative style or technique. Although only winning artists and poets are featured in Kaleidoscope, we thank all artists for their efforts and for participating in a proud Kindred tradition.
