    Announcement

On January 2, 2015 Centerre Healthcare joined forces with the Kindred Healthcare, Inc. family to create one of the nation’s largest inpatient rehabilitation providers. Together, we will work to build a more comprehensive service offering across the full spectrum of patient care.

    Acute Rehabilitation

A major illness or injury can have a significant impact on a person’s ability to care for themselves and live independently. Our Acute Rehabilitation program is focused on providing ongoing care and specialized rehabilitation to patients who have experienced a traumatic injury or illness by supporting them in their journey in the recovery process.

Our network of Kindred inpatient rehabilitation facilities and hospitals and our partnerships with large acute medical centers allow us to provide comprehensive acute rehabilitation services to meet the medical, functional, psychological, social and support needs of our patients and their families. Each patient is treated with a specialized intense rehabilitation plan that is customized based on an individual’s existing abilities, tolerance for therapy and desired outcomes to prepare them for their return home.

Each patient receives 24-hour nursing care and at least three hours of therapy a day, five days a week to help them on their road to recovery. As part of each personalized treatment plan, patients will work with a comprehensive team of doctors, nurses, and therapists trained in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. This specialized team evaluates and develops a personalized treatment plan designed to help each individual recover and develop the skills needed to return home or to live as independently as possible.

    Our patient services include:

    • Brain Injury Rehabilitation
    • Lower Extremity Amputation Rehabilitation
    • Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation
    • Stroke Recovery

Patients in Kindred’s freestanding inpatient rehabilitation hospitals achieved 19.9% greater functional improvement than the national average. To learn more, read our 2014 Quality and Social Responsibility Report.
