If you or your loved one has been referred to a Kindred inpatient rehabilitation hospital, you may have questions. Here are some answers.
Inpatient rehabilitation hospitals are for individuals who have been impaired by an injury or illness and are considered by their physicians to be medically stable and physically able to begin a comprehensive rehabilitation program consisting of at least three hours of therapy a day, five days a week.
Prospective patients require daily physician oversight, a minimum of two types of therapy and 24-hour nursing care. Every patient at our hospital is treated with dignity, respect and compassion.
Patients admitted to our hospital benefit from specialized intense rehabilitation for medical needs that preclude them from being accepted into a lower level of care such as a skilled nursing facility. Assessment begins immediately, and service may be provided five days per week. The duration of daily therapy sessions depends upon the patient’s tolerance level.
All of our programs feature care provided by an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team committed to helping each patient progress to recovery. We develop a personalized treatment plan for each patient designed to help him or her recover and live as independently as possible.
A Kindred inpatient rehabilitation hospitals clinical liaison will meet with the patient’s care coordinator and review the patient chart to obtain a complete understanding of the hospital treatment, as well as past medical history. Once a patient is approved, a mutually agreed upon admission date and time will be established.
With more than a decade of experience, we recognize the importance of understanding and preparing for individual needs prior to patient arrival. The result is a less stressful transition process for both patients and families.
Part of the admission process includes verification of insurance. We accept most forms of insurance. Our clinical liaison or a representative from our business office will answer any financial or insurance questions.
