Kindred Healthcare Appoints Russ Bailey President, Kindred Rehabilitation Services

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (December 21, 2020) Kindred Healthcare, LLC (“Kindred” or the “Company”) today announced the appointment of Russ Bailey as President of Kindred Rehabilitation Services (“KRS”), effective immediately.

KRS is the nation’s leading provider of rehabilitation services, including physical, occupational, and speech-language therapies. The division includes Kindred Hospital Rehabilitation Services (“KHRS”), which provides leading acute care rehab services to more than 20 freestanding inpatient rehabilitation facilities (“IRFs”) and more than 95 partner hospital locations in the United States.  

Mr. Bailey has served as Chief Operating Officer – IRFs for KHRS since 2019, overseeing operations for Kindred’s wholly owned and joint venture freestanding IRFs. Under his leadership, Kindred’s IRF business has achieved rapid growth and built a robust development pipeline, all while maintaining an unwavering commitment to quality outcomes. Mr. Bailey previously served as Division Vice President of Operations for the South, Midwest, and West regions for Kindred. He joined Kindred as part of the Centerre merger in 2015. At Centerre, Mr. Bailey served as CEO of Texas Rehabilitation Hospital, as well as Vice President of Operations for Centerre’s West Region of Hospitals. He began his career as a physical therapist in inpatient and outpatient settings.
