Explore Our Hospital
Our hospital has a lot to offer you and your loved one on the journey to improved health. Please check out our virtual tour, photo gallery and more to get a better understanding of where you and your loved one will be during the stay. If you have any questions about visitation that is not mentioned in the Visitor Information section, please be sure to give us a call!
Visitor Information
- Get a visitor’s pass at the Information Desk when you arrive. We recommend limiting visitors to two at any one time as to not overwhelm your loved one and our care team. Visitor passes are valid only for the date and area displayed and we ask that you wear them at all times while inside the hospital. Please return your visitor’s pass to the Information Desk when you leave.
- Check with the patient’s nurse for special restrictions that they may request based on your loved one’s care plan.
- Keep noise to a minimum.
- To avoid congestion in the hallways, please stay in your loved ones room while you visit.
Visitors with infections should be restricted. Visitors to patients in isolation should use good hand washing technique and wear the proper attire supervised by the nursing staff. Please limit the number of visitors to no more than two at a time in your loved ones room. Due the critical nature of the care being given in some rooms, there may be special visiting hours or restrictions may be given by the nurse caring for your loved one.
The number of visitors may be restricted at any given time at the discretion of the charge nurse. Visitors must abide by caution signs. Some of our units have special visiting hours because of the critical nature of the care being given.
Visiting Hours
General Visiting Hours are daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
ICU/MOU
We recommend immediate family only. If you require extended family visitation, please limit the number in the room. Waiting areas are available for family and friends.
Visiting with Children
Children under the age of 12 are not permitted on the units, however they are welcome to wait in common or family waiting areas. Children must be supervised at all times in order to ensure their safety and the safety of our patients.
Parking
Visitor parking at our hospital is free of charge.
Restrooms
Public restrooms are located throughout the hospital. Because patient doors do not lock, visitors should use only public restrooms to ensure privacy.
Smoking Policy
Kindred Hospital Peoria is a smoke-free campus per the Smoke-free Illinois Act. Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the hospital. Associates and security will enforce this policy.
The single most important thing you can do for your current and future health is to stop smoking.
Mail and Flowers
Cards and flowers sent by family and friends to make your loved ones stay better are brought to the room daily. Live plants and flowers are not allowed in the ICU/MOU. If the hospital receives mail after discharge, we will forward. Flowers delivered after your loved one leaves the hospital, however, are returned to the florist.
Infection Control
We ask that all visitors observe general hygiene practices when entering and leaving patient rooms. This includes disinfecting hands using the sanitizer dispensers conveniently placed around the hospital.
For visitors of patients who are under special infection-control precautions or isolation, please read the isolation signs, check with the patient’s nurse, and make sure you understand and cooperate with the required precautions.
Please refrain from visiting if you have a cough, runny nose and/or congestion, sore throat, body aches, unusual weakness or tiredness, fever, rash, open sores, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or exposure to any communicable diseases such as chicken pox, measles or mumps.
