We developed the Spotlight program to recognize our top performers. Using data from our third-party vendor Strategic Healthcare Programs (SHP), we award the Spotlight distinction to the top 10 percent of our locations based on their comprehensive quality score. These locations also exceed the SHP national average in overall quality, which is a comprehensive rating that includes hospitalization, outcomes, and patient satisfaction measures. Key measures include:
- Hospitalization
- How often home health patients had to be admitted to the hospital
- Patient outcomes
- How often patients got better at walking or moving around
- How often patients got better at getting in and out of bed
- How often patients got better at bathing
- How often patients’ breathing improved
- How often patients got better at taking their medications correctly by mouth
- Patient satisfaction
- How often the home health team gave care in a professional way
- How well the home health team communicated with patients
- Did the home health team discuss medicines, pain, and home safety with patients
- How patients rate their overall care from the home health agency
- Would patients recommend the home health agency to friends and family
