jason z2We are proud to announce that Jason Zachariah, Senior Vice President of Kindred Hospital Rehabilitation Services, has been nominated by Louisville Business First to be featured as one of forty distinguished people in business in Louisville, the headquarters of Kindred Healthcare.

Jason began his career with Kindred in 2006 as an assistant administrator at Kindred Hospital Chicago North. By 2008, Mr. Zachariah became hospital CEO at Kindred Hospital South Florida – Ft. Lauderdale. He went on to serve as an executive director and district chief operating officer and now presides over all of the rehabilitation division’s hospital rehabilitation services. Prior to joining Kindred, Jason held sales and marketing positions with Abbott Laboratories and Glaxo SmithKline.

While at Kindred, Jason has emphasized the need for hospitals to partner with a rehabilitation provider with proven results in positive patient outcomes, outcome measurement and cost management. During Jason’s tenure as Chief Operating Officer of Kindred Hospital Rehabilitation Services (KHRS), the division has forged a number of new joint ventures and partnerships. In January of this year, Kindred acquired Centerre, a national company dedicated to operating inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, which led to the company’s current position as the nation’s largest operator of inpatient rehabilitation.

In April, Kindred Hospital Rehabilitation services announced that they had entered into an affiliation agreement with renowned neurorehab centers Craig Hospital in Denver, Colorado and Shepherd Center in Atlanta, GA. The affiliation was designed as a way for the three groups to work collaboratively to pursue new neuro-rehabilitation models that seek to improve patient care across the health continuum.

In addition to his valuable experience and operational expertise, Jason’s education background makes him well-credentialed for his current role. Jason graduated from Duke University with bachelor’s degrees in biology and chemistry. He holds an MBA and a master’s degree in biotechnology from Northwestern University.

Congratulations, Jason!
