Pulmonary Care

When you are living with a condition that makes it difficult to breathe, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, we are here to help you achieve the best possible outcome, regain function and safely return home as quickly as your recovery allows.

Our collaborative interdisciplinary team is unique because of our training and experience in treating patients with pulmonary diseases.

People trust us because more than 20 years ago, we created the first hospitals in the nation to specialize in pulmonary care, with an emphasis on ventilator management and weaning. We bring that same level of expertise into our nursing and rehabilitation centers.

When you come to us, you have access to:

  • Physical, occupational and speech therapy up to seven days a week
  • Nutrition assessments and education to promote healthy lifestyle changes
  • Anxiety and pain management
  • Pulmonary hygiene and management strategies
  • Tracheostomy care and decannulation care, when appropriate
  • An individualized exercise program to help you achieve positive outcomes and regain function
  • Assistance with the transition to home, outpatient care and community services such as Better Breathers

We treat a variety of conditions, such as:

  • COPD—bronchitis, emphysema, bronchiectasis and/or asthma
  • Pneumonia
  • Occupational or environmental lung disease
  • Interstitial fibrosis
  • Lung cancer
