Kindred Hospital Chicago - Northlake is excited to offer this virtual tour of our building.
Visiting Hours
General visiting hours for Kindred Hospital – Chicago (Northlake Campus) are daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Flexibility in hours may be available in some cases and should be discussed with the nursing manager, chief clinical officer or the chief executive officer.
Please limit the number of visitors to no more than two at a time in your loved ones room.
Please have all other visitors wait in the main lobby until other visitors leave. Be aware that we may ask that you to wait outside the patient’s room while care is being provided.
Rest is very important to recovery for your loved one, so visitors to the High Acuity Unit should limit visits to 15 minutes.
Visiting with Children
Children under the age of five (5) are not routinely allowed in patient rooms, and an adult must accompany children under the age of twelve (12). Children are welcome to wait in common or family waiting areas, but must be supervised at all times in order to ensure their safety and the safety of our patients.
Infection Control
We ask that all visitors observe general hygiene practices when entering and leaving patient rooms. This includes disinfecting hands using the sanitizer dispensers conveniently placed around the hospital.
For visitors of patients who are under special infection-control precautions or isolation, please read the isolation signs, check with the patient’s nurse, and make sure you understand and cooperate with the required precautions.
Please refrain from visiting if you have a cough, runny nose and/or congestion, sore throat, body aches, unusual weakness or tiredness, fever, rash, open sores, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or exposure to any communicable diseases such as chicken pox, measles or mumps.
Spiritual Center
Located on the ground floor, the spiritual center is open to all visitors for meditation or prayer.
Cafeteria
The hospital cafeteria is located on the basement level and is available to all visitors.
- Breakfast is served daily from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.

Parking and Security
Free parking is available in the adjacent lots located to the east, west and south of the hospital. Handicapped parking spaces are available in all lots. While we strive to keep all areas of the hospital secure, we are not responsible for vehicle damage, fire or theft while parked in the hospital lot. For the safety of our patients, all doors are locked after 8 p.m. Please use the phone in the ambulance bay for admission after hours. The security staff is available to provide escorts to and from cars after hours, upon request.
Family Involvement
Family members have the opportunity to meet with clinical staff in a patient care conference to discuss their loved one’s current condition, re-evaluate the customized plan of care and progress and to ask any questions. These conferences promote communication and provide a regular forum in which all professionals involved in the patient’s care can address questions and concerns. Patient conferences may be scheduled by contacting case management.
