TRAVEL AND REGISTRATION

The Caregiver Summit begins on Monday, November 26th at 5:30 p.m. with the vendor show and welcome reception. The Summit will end midday on Wednesday, November 28th after a visit to the Kindred Support Center.

On-site check-in for The Summit will begin on Monday, at 3:00pm, ending at 7pm. It will re-open on Tuesday morning before the General Session begins.

Invited guests, please complete the steps below to get all set for the Summit!

Step 1 - REGISTER ONLINE

  • Online registration for The Kindred Caregiver Summit is now open! If you recently received an invitation, please register here.

Step 2 - COMPLETE TRAVEL REQUEST

KEY REMINDERS:

  • We have organized a room block with the host hotel and you will be included on the rooming list once you have submitted your Registration Form.
  • Please note that you will need a credit card upon check in for incidentals only. The cost of the hotel room is set to bill direct to Kindred.
  • You should receive your travel itinerary within 5 business days of submission of the TAR Form as confirmation of your Summit registration and booking of your travel.

Once you have completed both above, you are all set to attend the 2018 Kindred Caregiver Summit! We look forward to seeing you in Louisville.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION IN LOUISVILLE

Once you land in Louisville, Kindred will provide shuttle service to/from the airport. There will be an airport greeter near baggage claim with a Kindred Healthcare sign who will direct you to the shuttle. We will set the hours based on flight arrivals and departures and post that schedule closer to the event. If you arrive or depart after our posted hours then you are responsible for your own transportation.

TRAVEL TIPS

  • Dress in layers – the conference rooms are often chilly.
  • Tag your bag(s).
  • Please pack all medications in a carry-on bag.
  • Please visit this website if you have questions regarding what is prohibited in your carryon luggage or the TSA security check points.
  • Consider leaving a copy of your travel itinerary with a friend or family member.
  • Smoking is not permitted at the Omni Hotel Louisville.
  • Consider making a travel checklist to avoid last-minute packing. Be sure to check the weather forecast!

FAQ

Can I bring my spouse/guest?

  • Conference events are mandatory and not open for spouses/guests. If you wish to bring your spouse/guest to Louisville it will be at your own expense, but please remember they will not be included in the Summit events, including meals. We also ask that you please let us know so the hotel can be made aware of the double occupancy in the room.

While I’m in Louisville, is it possible to stop by the Support Center?

  • This year special arrangements have been made and we have incorporated a guided visit to the Support Center on the final day of the conference. Unfortunately this is for Summit attendees only and we cannot accommodate any spouse/guest. The Support Center is not open to the general public. To comply with our Safety & Security policy, all visitors to the Support Center must be escorted by a Support Center staff member who has authorized access to the facility.

Boarding Passes

The Omni Hotel Louisville offers a UPS Business Center on the 2nd floor near the conference rooms that have kiosks available to print boarding passes, if needed.

Check Out

  • You must check out of your hotel room before the general session begins at 8:30am. The standard hotel check out time is 11:00am, however, you are expected to be in attendance at all Wednesday morning sessions at the Support Center.
  • The charge for the hotel room will be direct billed to Kindred Healthcare. Any and all other incidental charges will be charged to the credit card you used at check in.
  • When you check out please bring your luggage to the 2nd Floor Olmstead 1 & 2. We will have a luggage attendant on hand to store your luggage until you return for pick up. This room will be monitored/secured while the attendees visit the Support Center. If you prefer, you can also check your luggage with the Omni Hotel bellman on the first floor.
  • Once the meeting is adjourned, attendees will return to the Omni Hotel to retrieve their luggage (and grab lunch) before boarding shuttles to the airport.

Transportation to the Airport – November 28

  • We will be providing box lunches on Wednesday, Nov. 28.
  • Buses will depart from the Main Entrance/2nd Street side of the Omni for the airport. The departure times are as follows: 12:15pm, 12:30pm, 2:00pm (two buses), and final run at 3:00pm.
  • For any flight scheduled to depart outside the shuttle times, you will need to utilize taxi/Uber service.
  • If in the event Shuttle Times need to be adjusted due to inclement weather, group announcements will be made.
